1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using the ABU Architects Foundation website (the "Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use the Platform.
2. Who we are
The Platform is operated by the ABU Architects Foundation ("AAF"), a global digital foundation connecting alumni, students, professionals and partners of the Zaria School of Architecture.
3. Use of the platform
You may use the Platform for lawful purposes related to AAF's mission, including membership, networking, volunteering, accessing resources and making donations. You agree not to use the Platform for any illegal, fraudulent, abusive, defamatory or otherwise harmful purpose.
You agree not to:
- interfere with the operation of the Platform or other users' accounts;
- upload or distribute malware, spam, hate speech or infringing content;
- misrepresent your identity, qualifications or professional credentials;
- attempt to access areas or data you are not authorised to access.
4. Membership and accounts
Some features of the Platform require an AAF member account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate and current information.
AAF reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that we reasonably believe to be fraudulent, inactive or harmful.
5. Content and intellectual property
All content provided by AAF on the Platform, including text, images, logos, documents and software, is the property of AAF or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify or create derivative works without our prior written permission.
By submitting content to the Platform (such as profile information, articles or comments), you grant AAF a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, display and distribute that content in connection with our mission and operations.
6. Donations and payments
Donations and membership payments are processed through third-party payment providers. By making a payment, you agree to their terms and any applicable fees. AAF does not store full payment card details. All transactions are processed securely.
7. Third-party links
The Platform may contain links to external websites. AAF is not responsible for the content, privacy practices or security of those third-party sites.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. AAF does not guarantee that the Platform will always be available, error-free or free from harmful components.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, AAF shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Platform.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. Updated terms will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms of Use shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
