A globally connected architectural foundation
AAF mobilises alumni, professionals, students, institutions, donors and partners to support architectural education, innovation, research, heritage and sustainable development.
Our purpose
Why AAF exists
The Ahmadu Bello University Architects Foundation (ABU Architects Foundation) is a global network of graduates of the Zaria School of Architecture, committed to empowering the next generation of architects, innovators and built-environment leaders. It connects the Zaria architectural community worldwide, fostering knowledge, collaboration and collective impact.
AAF supports the Zaria School of Architecture and its graduates through initiatives in architectural education, research, professional development, heritage and sustainable development.
The Department of Architecture at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, has shaped the practice of architecture across Nigeria and beyond for decades. Its graduates lead practices, faculties, public institutions and studios on every continent.
The ABU Architects Foundation exists to turn that dispersed strength into an institution: funding students who would otherwise drop out, preserving a built heritage that is being lost, backing research that responds to climate and rapid urbanisation, and giving young architects the skills the profession now demands.
Everything the Foundation does is recorded on this platform — members, committees, projects, grants, donations and outcomes — so that funders, partners and members can see exactly what their support delivers.
